Judge Demands Kanye West's Deposition in Donda Academy Lawsuit

A Los Angeles judge has issued a firm mandate to music mogul and fashion designer Kanye West, ordering him to appear for a deposition within 30 days. The order comes in a high-profile lawsuit filed by former Donda Academy employee, Trevor Phillips, and marks a critical turning point in the legal battle.

Phillips, who filed the lawsuit in April 2024, alleges a pattern of serious misconduct during his time at the unaccredited school. According to the suit, Phillips claims he witnessed West's frequent sharing of antisemitic views with staff and that he also heard West discuss unsettling plans to shave students' heads and build a jail on school grounds.
