The legal and professional woes are mounting for alternative R&B artist d4vd, who vaulted to fame on TikTok. The "Romantic Homicide" singer, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, has recently made headlines for a significant real estate move amidst an ongoing LAPD investigation into the death of a missing teenager.

TMZ reports that between September 18 and 22—days after police executed a search warrant on one of his Texas properties—d4vd officially transferred the deeds to two Houston-area residences. According to legal documents obtained by the outlet, this transfer occurred shortly after police visited one of his Texas homes on September 18, prompted by a false report of a shooting.

Album Shelved and Collaborators Distance Themselves

The legal troubles have quickly impacted d4vd's music career. His label, Interscope Records, and its parent company, Universal Music Group (UMG), have reportedly shelved the highly anticipated deluxe album, Withered, and halted all promotional materials. The deluxe project was originally slated for a September 19 release.

This decision follows reports earlier in the month linking the singer to a major LAPD investigation. The scrutiny intensified when the remains of missing 15-year-old Celeste Rivas were discovered in an impounded Tesla vehicle registered in d4vd's name.

The situation has caused collaborators to distance themselves. Notably, R&B star Kali Uchis announced she would be stepping away from their joint effort, citing the uncertainty surrounding the case.

Legal Scrutiny and Speculation Intensify

Further complicating the narrative are resurfaced social media posts, leaked audio, and rampant online speculation, including serious allegations of grooming and inappropriate contact. D4vd has maintained a largely public silence, with brief statements coming only from his representatives and limited online interactions with fans.

The LAPD has confirmed that the body of Celeste Rivas was found in the vehicle. While authorities have not officially named d4vd as a suspect, the developments—from the deed transfers to the immediate cancellation of his promotional rollout—have only intensified the media and public scrutiny.

What are your thoughts on d4vd's recent real estate transaction? Does this change your view on his music career?
