This high-profile case is set head to trial on January 12, 2026, promising another intense courtroom battle that will inevitably draw global attention.
Criminal Acquittal Does Not Stop Civil Suit
A jury previously found the "Praise The Lord" rapper not guilty on two counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, sparing him a potential 24-year prison sentence. After the verdict, Mayers, who shares two children with singer Rihanna, publicly expressed his gratitude, stating, "Thank y'all for saving my life."
However, the legal heat remains on. A$AP Relli, who initially represented himself, has now retained the services of experienced attorneys Aaron Morris and Andrew Robertson. The newly formed legal team is reportedly "working diligently" to build Relli's case and press forward with the civil claim, indicating a firm resolve to see the suit through.
Court Pushes for Mediation Ahead of Trial
With the trial date rapidly approaching, the court is urging both sides to explore alternative dispute resolution. Rocky's attorney, Wogai Mohmand, confirmed that Relli's camp has not yet made any settlement offers.
In an October 14 hearing, Judge William F. Fahey directed both AAP Rocky's and AAP Relli's legal teams to engage in private mediation by December 10, 2025, in a bid to reach a resolution outside of trial.
"We have a firm trial date about two months away. We’re going to try to settle this case," Judge Fahey stated, stressing the urgency of the matter.
As the clock ticks down, the spotlight will once again shine intensely on the intersection of celebrity life and serious legal challenges. The looming civil trial serves as a stark reminder of the long-lasting repercussions that even a criminal acquittal cannot always erase.
